Annette Zappe’s filigree, sensitively patinated bronze sculptures stand among Oswald Malura’s colorful, abstract paintings, creating an exciting dialogue. While she focuses on the individual, Malura often merges humanity and environment into a unified whole. With her figures we seem to be wandering through Malura’s impressionistic-abstract landscapes, discovering ourselves within them.

The motif of the bridge in the visual art
Bridges are symbols of mediation, exchange, connection, progress and encounter. Therefore they are used as a symbol of peace. They allow us to overcome and find paths into the new and unknown. They connect what is separate and distinct, thus enabling transition between two different realms or worlds, between heaven and earth, this world and the coming. The exhibition illustrates that this motif is also repeatedly taken up in contemporary art and fascinates in many different ways.
